6 More Local Etsy Shops We Love

Etsy still remains one of the best places to shop for unique items, and the Fredericksburg area has many talented artists and artisans who sell their work on the site.

In May I shared 6 local Etsy shops and today I’m back to share 6 more! Enjoy each of the creations and hop over to their Etsy shops to see more of their designs.

Scarlettwares

“Scarlett Pons is a self taught potter with a degree in Architecture. Scarlett designs, makes and fires all her pieces at her country studio located in Fredericksburg, VA. She designs pieces for the home and garden that are elegantly simple and quiet in nature. Many of her pieces are often described as rustic contemporary. Much of her inspiration comes from long walks along the Virginia country side.”

All of her work feels extremely organic and perfectly playful – I love it!

If you are in Downtown Fredericksburg walking around, stop by Scarlett’s store – PONSHOP – where you can find more of her wonderful pieces of art.

Vicarious Clothing

“Vicarious Clothing was started by a husband and wife team from central Florida. Ian and Heather Vibbert started a humble Etsy store out of a necessity for some extra income and as a creative outlet. What started out as iron on transfers on cheap white tees with only a few orders a week, evolved into higher quality materials and process, as well as, increased popularity. In the beginning, orders trickled in slowly, but after a few years of good reviews, word of mouth, as well as improved product quality and great customers that are happy to advertise for us, we have become a successful brand. The company has since moved, along with the Vibbert family, to Virginia just outside of Washington D.C., but the vision hasn’t changed. We continue to sell original, fresh, fun tees that reflect your unique personality!”

The fun and eclectic t-shirts are available for men, women and kids!

Oak & Ale

“And it all started with a knitting needle..”

“An artist currently based out of Fredericksburg, working with many medias- Oak & Ale classics start with the thick wool knits and minimalist metals. I have been painting, knitting, and crafting for seven years, and my passion for it has only blossomed throughout age.” – Pearl, owner of Oak & Ale

These tassel necklaces are such fun paired with just a white t-shirt! Head over to Forage in Downtown Fredericksburg to see and purchase some of their beautiful items.

Minimal Creatures

“I’m Stefanie; the head honcho of Minimal Creatures and a mom to two busy girls and standard poodles! When I’m not chasing my little ones around, I enjoy bringing my creative ideas to life through crafting rustic wall art. From sawing wood in my garage to hand-painting the designs, all pieces are handmade in my home in Spotsylvania, Virginia. When creating pieces, the philosophy I follow is simple—less is more and embrace the imperfections!”

After I spied their adorable “signs” on Etsy, I knew that I needed to share them. Wouldn’t these be fun in a child’s bedroom or in a family wood-themed playroom?!?!

Soap Roots

“Humble beginnings: Let’s just say my mom got me un-purposefully hooked. She brought me some handmade soaps years ago, & after realizing how bummed I was after I ran out, that’s when I decided start making my own. I tend to be the kind of person who enjoys challenges, because I find that quite often, the more difficult things can be really powerful life changers if we let them. Tho, I wasn’t really too health conscience at that point in my life, but I was truly inspired by the way the soap felt on my skin after showering… NOT dry. I’m so thankful, because natural soaps opened up a whole new world for me when it came to being a more healthy person in a general aspect, making me more aware of the things we put on our skin to the things we consume into our body. & I enjoy it. I enjoy being able to talk to people about natural products. I enjoy making them & being able to express the huge part in me that just wants to explode with creativity.” – Lana, owner of Soap Roots

Lana’s soaps are not only beautiful, but you can tell that each of the ingredients in the soap has been methodically thought out.

Hollow Man Wood Working

Originating in Stafford, Hollow Man creates incredible pieces of art from salvage wood. Not only can their work be found on Etsy, but it can also be purchased from Thistle & Ash in Downtown Fredericksburg. They take custom orders as well.

When I was browsing at Thistle & Ash, these pieces of art and their unique geometric designs certainly peaked my interest. Each one is unique and different.
